Some of you have already heard about the new MediaTek Helio P70 chipset announcement. But have you also heard about Realme to be the first smartphone brand to equip it? According to the latest announcement, Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India confirms that the company will definitely be the first.
This took place at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2018, also to add on to that, Mr Sheth stated that the new Realme device that will adopt the Helio P70 processor won’t be a successor of either the Realme 2 or Realme 2 Pro, but an entirely new device that will be a “game changer” to the industry. Much ambitious.
Just to recap on the Helio P70, it’s a brand new octa-core 12nm chipset (FinFET technology) with a multi-core APU operating up to 525MHz for AI processing purpose. Within the octa-core structure, there are four ARM Cortex-A73 cores clocking at 2.1GHz and another four ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocking at 2.0GHz. On the GPU side, it uses an ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU up to 900MHz. Comparing with the Helio P60 processor, the new Helio P70 processor can deliver a 13% better performance and 10-13% better AI processing power.
MediaTek also mentioned that Helio P70-powered smartphones are already in production and could be ready as early as November 2018. Realme is also making its way into the Malaysia market so that’s equally exciting. Stay tuned for more Realme news at TechNave.com.
